Framing

the technique of drawing attention to the subject of your image by blocking other parts of the image with something in the scene

placeing the subject against a neutral background such as a backdrop or the sky

Rule of Thirds

In photography, therule of thirds is a type of composition in which an image is divided evenly into thirds, both horizontally and vertically, and the subject of the image is placed at the intersection of those dividing lines, or along one of the lines itself.

leading lines

refers to a composition technique whereby the viewer's eye is attracted to lines that lead directly to the principle subject in the image.

symmetry

SYMMETRY refers to a line that splits an object in half and, if both sides of the object are an exact mirror image of each other, then this object is said to be symmetrical.

merging

The more objective you become before taking a picture, the more you'll prevent mergers. Another form of a merger is having very bright or dark spots appear in the background or foreground of your image.

Subject is Lit from the front, behind the camera.

Subject is lit from the left, the right of the camera.

Back Lit

The subject is lit from behind, in front of the camera. These photos often take the form of Silhouettes.
